2008 Awards

Nov. – Working Mother magazine named Marriott to its Hall of Fame for being recognized as one of the "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers."

Oct. – Travel + Leisure magazine honored Marriott with the global vision award... "Green/Eco Hotel," and recognized the company for its five-point strategy plan to off-set its environmental footprint.

Sept. – BusinessWeek magazine has named Marriott as a "100 Best Global Brand."

Sept. – Marriott has been recognized by Working Mother magazine as one of the 100 best companies for working mothers.

Sept. – BusinessWeek magazine recognized Marriott International as one of the 'Best Places to Launch a Career.'

Sept. – Marriott has been recognized by LatinaStyle magazine for the 11th consecutive year as one of the "50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work For in the U.S."

Aug. – Marriott International has been included as a company member of the FTSE4Good Index, an index that measures the performance of companies that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards and facilitates investment in those companies.
 
July – Marriott International received a reputation pulse score of 74.1 with the United States general public, earning the company a #1 ranking of all Services companies in the United States.  The Global Pulse 2008 survey is conducted by the Reputation Institute.

July – Black Enterprise magazine named Marriott one of “40 Best Companies for Diversity” for the fourth consecutive year.  Marriott was one of two lodging companies to make the list. 

June – CIO magazine honored Marriott International with the 2008 CIO 100 award for the ninth time.  The 21st annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT).  Marriott is the only hospitality company honored this year.

April – The Great Place to Work® Institute, Inc. has recognized Marriott has a great place to work in Mexico.

April – DiversityInc magazine ranked Marriott #11 on their "Top 50 Companies for Diversity" list.  Marriott was the highest ranking lodging company on the list, as well as one of the top ten companies for supplier diversity.

March – Hispanic Enterprise magazine named Marriott to their “50 Best Companies for Supplier Diversity.” 


March – The National Association for Female Executives has named Marriott International one of the “Top 10 Companies for Executive Women.”  

March – FORTUNE magazine recognized Marriott as one of "America's Most Admired Companies," and was named the most admired company in the lodging industry, for the ninth consecutive year.

January – FORTUNE magazine recognized Marriott International as one of the "100 Best Companies to Work For," for the 11th consecutive year.

2007 Awards

October – Budget Travel magazine has honored Marriott International with the 2007 "Extra Mile Award."  Marriott was one of seven companies to be honored and was recognized for the company's use of Sed de Saber, a language training program for Spanish speaking employees.
 
October – Working Mother magazine recognized Marriott International as a "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers." This is the 16th time Marriott has been named to this list, earning the company a place in Working Mother's Hall of Fame.
 
September – Marriott International received 100 percent score on The Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index Report which provides an in-depth analysis and rating of large U.S. employers and their policies and practices pertinent to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees, consumers and investors.
 
September – BusinessWeek magazine recognized Marriott International as one of the 'Best Places to Launch a Career.'
 
September – Hispanic Business magazine ranked Marriott International in the top ten on their list of "Diversity Elite 60" companies.
 
September – Conde Nast Traveler magazine recognized Marriott with the prestigious “World Savers” award the company's outstanding Community Engagement and Social Responsibility program.  Marriott was selected as the leading “chain hotel & resort” company.
 
August – LatinaStyle magazine has named Marriott International to its list of “The 50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work for in the U.S.” for the tenth year in a row.
 
July – Black Enterprise magazine named Marriott International one of the “40 Best Companies for Diversity.”  Marriott was recognized in two important categories:  15 Best in Workforce Diversity and 15 Best in Board Diversity.
 
June – Computerworld named Marriott as a “Best Place to Work in Information Technology” for the fifth consecutive year. Marriott placed 30th among the top 100 companies.
 
June – CIO magazine named Marriott International one of the 2007 CIO 100 for the eighth time. The 20th annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT).
 
May – Ethisphere magazine has named one of the “World’s Most Ethical Companies."  Ethisphere is a national publication dedicated to illuminating the important correlation between ethics and profit.  The elite list of companies was recognized for their strong leadership in ethics and compliance, advancement of industry discourse on social and ethical issues, and positive engagement in the communities in which they operate.
 
April – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized Marriott International with the 2007 ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence Award. Marriott is the first lodging company to receive this award, and is being recognized for its continued leadership in protecting the environment through energy management.
 
March – ESSENCE magazine named Marriott International one of the “25 Great Places to Work” for African-American women.
 
March – Black MBA magazine named Marriott International the highest ranked company on their “Top 50 Companies for Black MBAs to Work.”
 
March – DiversityInc magazine ranked among the “Top 50 Companies for Diversity” – the highest in the lodging industry.  Marriott placed number four in the Top 10 Companies for People with Disabilities category.
 
March – The National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) recognized Marriott International as one of the top 10 companies on their 2007 list of “Top 30 Companies for Executive Women.”
 
February – FORTUNE magazine recognized Marriott as one of "America's Most Admired Companies," and was named the most admired company in the lodging industry, for the eighth consecutive year.

September  InformationWeek has ranked Marriott seventh most innovative user of technology in the U.S. – the company again tops in the hospitality and travel industry.
 
September  Hispanic Business magazine ranked Marriott #11 on the list of the “Top 50 Companies for Hispanics.”
 
August  Latina Style magazine has named Marriott International to its list of “The 50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work for in the U.S.” for the eighth year in a row.
 
July  Seventeen magazine has named Marriott one of the "ten best companies for teens."
 
July NABHOOD (National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators and Developers) presented Marriott with the organization's first annual “Champion Award” for diversity leadership, as well as the “Supplier Diversity Award” for efforts to expand business opportunities to minority suppliers.
 
July – The NAACP ranked Marriott International the highest of any global lodging company for the seventh time in its annual lodging industry report card.
 
June  Computerworld magazine named Marriott in top 20 as a “Best Place to Work in Information Technology” for the fourth consecutive year.
 
June Black Enterprise magazine named Marriott International one of the “40 Best Companies for Diversity.”  Marriott was recognized in two important categories:  10 Best in Workforce Diversity and 10 Best in Board Diversity.
 
June  IDG’s CIO magazine named Marriott to its CIO 100 list which recognizes organizations around the world that are using technology in innovative ways to deliver business value and create a competitive advantage.
 
June  Computerworld magazine has named Marriott a Laureate as part of IDG’s Computerworld Honors Program that recognizes the achievements of organizations around the world whose visionary applications of information technology promote positive social, economic and educational change.
 
May  For the second year, Marriott International was awarded the Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval by the Alliance for Workplace Excellence, based in Montgomery County.
 
May The Oprah Magazine named Marriott one of five companies that strive right by all their employees. The list was part of an article entitled, Good Company."
 
April DiversityInc. magazine named Marriott International, Inc. one of the “Top 50 Companies for Diversity,” for the third consecutive year.  At number 22, Marriott is the highest ranking lodging company on the list and the only lodging company to win in two important categories:  the Top 10 Companies for Recruitment & Retention and the Top 10 Companies for Executive Women.
 
April Black Collegian magazine has ranked Marriott in the top 20 on its list of the "Top Employers for the Class of 2006."
 
March For the second straight year, Marriott International was named Energy Star® 2006 Partner of the Year by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, distinguishing itself by demanding superior energy performance in the business and seeing real results.
 
March Marriott International received the 2006 Ronald E. Harrison Award, by the International Franchise Association, for its significant contributions to minorities in franchising.
 
March The National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) ranked Marriott on the "NAFE 2005 30 Best Companies for Executive Women." Marriott is the only lodging company-and the only Washington, D.C. area company-on the list.

2005 Awards

November Washingtonian magazine recognized Marriott International as one of 55 “great places to work.”  The company was chosen because of its employee development, community volunteer work, and employees’ long tenure.
 
October Working Mother magazine has named Marriott International, Inc. as one of the “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers,” for the 15th year.

September Hispanic Business ranked Marriott #10 on the list of the Top 40 Companies for Hispanics.

September For the seventh consecutive year, Marriott has been named to the InformationWeek 500.  Placing 56th overall among 500 companies, Marriott was the highest ranked hospitality and travel company on the list for the second straight year. 

August Latina Style magazine has named Marriott International to its list of “The 50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work for in the U.S.” for the seventh year in a row.
